MSRA-2025

A 6-year-old boy is brought to the Emergency Department by his parents. He has been feeling unwell for 6 days with diarrhoea and is now lethargic and pale. Despite drinking enough fluids, he has not urinated in over 14 hours.

The child has no medical history and has received all of his vaccinations. His symptoms began 3 days after he ate a chicken burger at a fair. During the examination, the doctor noticed multiple petechiae on his torso and limbs, and his feet were swollen.

What is the likely diagnosis, and what is the organism responsible for this patient’s illness?
