MRCP2-1671
A 79 year-old man complains of dysphagia for both solids and liquids that has been ongoing for 2 years. He reports having to chew his food thoroughly before swallowing and frequently needs to drink water with every bite. He also experiences coughing after eating and has had occasional pain behind his sternum while swallowing.
During a barium swallow test, a narrowing is observed at the gastro-esophageal junction, resulting in a ‘bird’s beak’ appearance.
