MRCPsych Paper A Overview
MRCPsych Paper A is a written paper on the scientific and theoretical basis of psychiatry, covering Behavioural Science and Sociocultural Psychiatry, Human Development, Basic Neurosciences, Clinical Psychopharmacology, and Classification and Assessment in Psychiatry.
Once the first written component is passed, candidates have a time limit of 6 years (2,191 days) from the date that result was published to complete all remaining MRCPsych components, including the CASC. Failure to complete in this period means re-sitting both Paper A and Paper B before the CASC.
